    He was elected president of the Bank, located at Derby, in 1894.
    An authority on the manufacture and distribution of energy, he was secretary of the New England Gas Association from 1865 to 1891 and Served as president of that group from 1893 to 1894. In 1897 he was chosen president of the American Gaslight Association. He was also named president of the Derby and Shelton Board of Trade.
    When Shelton was incorporated as a borough, Nettleton was chosen as its first warden and served two terms in that office.
    Nettleton was a staunch Republican. He was a vestry man of Saint James Church in Derby and served as treasurer of that society.

CHARLES F. BROOKER

    Charles F. Brooker was president of  Coe Brass Works, then a large manufacturing corporation.  He was the son of Martin Brooker, a farmer, and was educated in the common schools of Litchfield County. He entered early into the Coe Brass Works and worked his way up.
    He made many trips abroad in the interests of the company, traveling in Europe and the West Indies.
    The Coe Brass Company, which had a world-wide reputation, was organized in 1864. This firm added mills at Ansonia, which were formerly conducted by Wallace and Sons. The Ansonia mills manufactured braziers, sheeting and bolt copper, and mirror finished cold rolled copper. They also held a patent for a leveled cornice copper and manufactured copper wire for all purposes.
    In 1885 he represented the town of Torrington in the Connecticut General Assembly. He was a prominent Republican, serving on the State Central Committee. He was an alternate commissioner to the 1890 Worlds Fair.

EDWARD NELSON SHELTON

    Edward Nelson Shelton was born September 4, 1812 in the old Shelton homestead in Huntington, the son of Joseph and Charity Lewis Shelton. He was raised on his father's farm and attended the public schools. He later attended the Derby Academy and the Scientific School at Middletown, spending one year at Yale College.
