All the
above
churches in Oxford have some
form of a printed church history, the records of the two
Episcopal
Churches being the most complete, as they were compiled and
published
as separate hard-cover books by the late Norman Litchfield.
The Congregational, Lutheran and
Catholic
churches
all have reviewed their history on the occasion of special
events when
commemorative booklets have been published by the church.
A History of the Pleasant Vale Church,
or the
Riverside Methodist, was written by Miss Johanna Busk in
1968.
All of the foregoing have been used to
present to
readers of this history a general view of the development of
the
various denominations within the community of Oxford,
Connecticut.
