First Church Edifice
The Rev. David Bronson of Milford was called to fill the vacancy left by Rev. Lyman's death and was ordained on April 25th, 1764 and settled as the Minister. It was during his Ministry that the original church building was burned and the second and present edifice was built on "Meeting House Acre." Built by Timothy Candee at a cost of $3,300, it was first occupied in 1795 having been under construction for two or three years.
