#4 Riggs Street House

This house was built by member of the Riggs family, for whom Riggs Street was named. A father and several sons built houses on Riggs Street.

The father, Deacon Ebeneezer Riggs helped establish the Oxford Congregational Church in 1741.

This house was later owned by Horace Cable, who was prominent as a hat maker in the years when Oxford was known for its hat industry.
